Tide Pool Defender

Created during the Big Hadron Games project, 2009

I worked in a team of three to create this variation of the tower defense genre, all within a tight one-week timeline. My influence on the design was inspired by the large and active tide pools I saw during previous visits to the local aquarium. My second contribution was through the game art. I directed the visual look of the game by creating and animating the art assets in Flash. The crab movement was created by using a neat little animation tool available in Adobe Flash version CS4. This game was made with Ashley Blacquiere and Matt Jenkins.

Role: • Designed the game with two fellow students, both programmers
• Art: Created all game assets in Flash and Photoshop
• Animation: Key frame animated movements
• Completed the game on time and in one week
• Blogged about the game and the development experience
